On this fullday tour you get a chance to visit the idyllic village of Verla, with its historic Mill Museum. Travel up to the lake area to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Area of Verla. Visit the museum on a guided tour, and learn about the interesting history of the historic Groundwood and Board Mill, established in 1872. Verla Mill became Finland’s first factory Museum back in 1972. This UNESCO site gets around 40 000 visitors annually , of which about 10% are foreigners, coming from 50-60 different countries. Visit Ainola, the former home of Jean Sibelius. Today, Ainola is completely restored and contains all its original furnishings as well as books and personal articles belonging to the composer, who lived there for more than half a century.
