Around 65% of Finland’s land area is covered by forest, and the Finns have through out time had a very close connection with nature and the forests. It is a place where you can go calm down and clear your head. There is something magical and spiritual about the forest, and for many a great place of inspiration. It is said that many of our national composer Jean Sibelius works were inspired by the forest, as he absolutely loved the nature and the different seasons.
The forests are also filled with healthy and healing plants, used throughout times, of which you will hear interesting tales of. The forests in Finland really are a treasure for berry and mushroom pickers as it is free to enjoy – for everybody.
